Nothing says Spring Break (at least to us!) like the building of a new hotel in Fountain Valley! I was lucky enough to see the hotel in progress this past Friday while Bruce Ayres and Ric Marko (the Fountain Valley location’s Superintendent) shot a brief spot to be aired on Fountain Valley’s channel 3 in the near future.

Our goal is to drum up as much excitement as possible for the Fountain Valley hotel, and the energy was palpable, especially from Ric, who has a long history of building hotels all over the country for a wide variety of brands. We are lucky enough to have him on board for this project and he led us through the maze of wood and nails with great expertise. It was my first experience on a construction site so much of it was so absolutely interesting. (Side notes – 1. For future visits to sites I will remember that heels are an absolute NO for this sort of venue. 2. Hard hats do not in any way make a good addition to ANYONE’S outfit.) Ric compared the building of a hotel with giving birth to a child. I know, I know, not quite as painful, but he described it as a long process giving life to “this beautiful thing.” I think that qualifies as spot on!
