Summer in Orange County – Cars Land!

Summer in Orange County – Disneyland and Cars Land!

Now what would summer in Orange County be without a family trip to Disneyland Resort? A favorite of locals with annual passes wanting a dose of Disney during hot summer nights in Orange County, Disneyland Resort is, of course, a dream destination for children and families around the world. Being SoCal locals, there really is nothing that defines summer in Orange County more than the influx of ready-to-be-Disneyfied visitors that flock to Anaheim, CA between May and August each year. We are so lucky to have it in our back yard and to be able to share it with so many people! This year your Orange County summer trip to Disneyland Resort also offers you a brand new attraction – Cars Land.

Based on the Pixar animated soon-to-be-classic Cars, Cars Land is located in Disney California Adventure Park and features three main attractions. The first is Radiator Springs Racers, a six person car race between competing vehicles taking you around hair pin turns and down steep hills. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, the second big attraction, is themed on Mater’s Junkyard as well as the fields with baby tractors from the first Cars film. Visitors climb into vehicles that move and groove in glorious fashion to the music playing. It has been described as similar to the Mad Tea Party at Disneyland without the dizziness inducing spinning. The third and final main attraction for Cars Land is Luigi’s Flying Tires, which takes its cue from an original Disneyland attraction, Flying Saucers. Guests will glide back and forth around the ride area on a cloud of air, somewhat like pucks on an air hockey table! Talk about inventive!

Cars Land was opened to the public on June 15th of this year, so gather up the family and head out for some summer fun in Orange County. Lines are sure to be long for a new Disney “Land” so you should also be prepared to get to know your fellow queue mates very well during the 3-5 hour wait!

Summer in Orange County – A Trip to Cars Land Coupled with a Stay at Ayres Hotel Anaheim or Ayres Inn Orange

The perfect complement to your Disneyland adventure this summer in Orange County is most definitely a stay at either Ayres Hotel Anaheim or Ayres Inn Orange. Both are #1 hotels in their respective areas on TripAdvisor and offer a host of amenities that will make your family trip to Disneyland comfortable and convenient. An affordable shuttle service to the park through Anaheim Resort Transit, friendly service, complimentary full American breakfast and parking, and superb accommodations mean all you have to worry about when you visit Cars Land and Disneyland Resort is having fun with the family!

I am most looking forward to my sister being able to ride the Radiator Springs Racers. When I was about 10 and she was 6, we went to Disney World, she was too short to ride Test Track at Epcot in Florida and the Racers are very close to that ride. I look forward to riding those the most because I can’t wait for her to be able to ride a ride like the one I had so much fun on in Disney World. I can’t wait to share that with her.

I’ve got 3 grandchildren who can’t wait to ride the Radiator Springs Racers at Cars Land. But I should confess that Luigi’s Flying Tires in Cars Land brings back memories of Tomorrowland’s Flying Saucer ride for me. The best way to relax after a spending a super day at Dinsneyland Resort and exploring the great shops in Cars Land would be a perfect night rexlaxing at the Ayres Hotel.

My grandson loves the original Cars movie…so going to CARS LAND will be very exciting for him. He especially loves Mater, so we look forward to going to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and seeing Mater himself! After visiting CARS LAND, a ride on the Carousel in Disneyland is a must, since it is a family favorite–then we’ll head back over to California Adventure and take our time touring CARS LAND, enjoying Radiator Springs with all the fun places shown in the movie brought to life!

  14. Anthony Breschi Says:

My wife and I were so excited to hear about the addition of Cars Land. The first Cars Land attraction we would try out is sure to be Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, as my 3 year old is a HUGE Mater fan! After we spend some time getting acquainted with Cars Land, we would make a bee line straight to Toy Story Mania!, dad’s personal favorite! The whole family is huge Disney Pixar fans! For anyone who hasn’t seen Brave yet, please do so. It’s a great movie and the kids will love it! Disney has done it again! :)

I can’t wait to take my twin boys to carsland. The very first ride we would go on is the radiator prings racers. My sons hve seen it in the new carsland commercials and ask me to take them. Luigis flying tires would definalty be our next attraction. Besides going to carsland, we would also be very xcited about our stay in Ayres hotels. We go often to spend a day or two there, I still haven’t found any other hotel with the beds as comfortable as Ayres. It dosent matter if we stay at the Ayres right down the street from us, it Always feels like a relaxing vacation. Thanks Ayres for all your giveaways….and please choose my little family for this trip to carsland! :)

The ride that I am looking forward to the most in Cars Land is Radiator Springs Racers (who doesn’t love a good racing ride??)! After the exhilarating rush of Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land, I would rush over to the terrifying Tower of Terror knowing that after my dynamic Disney day, I would get to kick back, relax and get a good nights sleep at an amazingly awesome Ayres Hotel!!!

I am most looking forward to the new Cars Land attraction Luigi’s Flying Tires! My boyfriend’s name is Luis & we call him Luigi as a nickname & I work in the tire industry so it’s pretty much the perfect ride in Cars Land for me LOL! Since I haven’t been to Disneyland/California Adventure in many years, my next stop would be The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. While snuggling in our clam shell, maybe this girl could get a smooch while hearing “Kiss the Girl”! :) I would end my Cars Land experience with the World of Color nighttime spectacular. After all, what girl doesn’t dream of a little magic in their lives!!!

This is my first time hearing about the new Cars Land. Luigi’s Flying Tires sounds like it would be my first pick in Cars Land because it’s unlike any other I’ve been on before. I guess I’m too young to remember the Flying Saucers ride. But after cruising around in Cars Land for a bit, I’d have to take to the skies and go on Soarin’ Over California! Maybe I could spot the Ayres Hotel from that height :P

    June 28, 2012
  22. Jared Says:

Cars Land would be a great place to go because I loved the movie. At Cars Land, I would first hit up the Radiator Springs racers. After leaving Cars Land, I would check out some of the roller coasters!

I’ve been away at college for three years and when I go back home next month, I had plans to surprise my little sister with a Brother Sister trip to Disneyland & California Adventures. I’m excited to take her to the new “Cars Land” area that just opened; it would be great to experience the attraction Radiator Springs Racer in “Cars Land”. After a great race we would Zoom on over to get soaked on Grizzly River Run, Then head back over to “Cars Land” to grab a bite to eat at Flo’s V8 Café. This would definitely be a trip to remember. I still need to actually watch Cars in order to fully appreciate Cars Land, and will definitely do that before my next trip. As it is, I don’t know a lot about Cars Land, but Luigi’s Flying Tires look like it could be a lot of fun! What I’m really hoping though, is that Cars Land will help direct some of the crowd over to California Adventure so I can dash over and ride Peter Pan’s Flight without having to stand in line too long.
