The possibilities for holiday travel may soon be endless with the expansion efforts that have allowed the opening of the new $543 million dollar Terminal C at John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, CA. Also called the Thomas F. Riley Terminal, the new building was designed to look like an airplane fuselage and features natural stone, stainless steel, and a glass-enclosed central lobby. More short term parking, added food options such as the Anaheim Ducks Breakaway Bar & Grill and Ruby’s Shake Shack, multiple exhibits by local artists, and state-of –the-industry check-in kiosks mean the passenger experience at Terminal C will be more efficient and comfortable.
But by far the biggest change is the addition of the very first customs area at John Wayne Airport. This new customs area means the possibility of expanded international travel to Southern California. The only international flights out of John Wayne currently go to Canada but plans to begin flights to Mexico are in the works. From there, the possibilities are endless. Which begs the question: If you could fly out of John Wayne Airport’s Terminal C to anywhere in the world, where would you go? My affinity for medieval architecture offers only two choices: Bruges, Belgium or Prague in the Czech Republic. Where do your fantasy travels take you?
